I played at The Balsams over the weekend, taking Greg Goodwin's place in the Rick Erwin trio. While I was there I got to check out the room where Dixville Notch conducts the first vote in the nation. The results board was still up. Cool!
I don't do instrumental piano trio sets like these often, and it was a lot of fun. Here's a few tracks from the breakfast set we played this morning. As you can hear, the omelet station was right next to the band.
I'll be up at The Balsams myself in December for an Artisans Weekend. I'm hoping that the snow holds off. It's a long drive under the best of conditions, but in the snow, it's even longer.
ReplyDeleteWhen I left on Sunday morning it was raining, and I overheard someone saying it was changing over to sleet/snow in the Notch. I didn't see any though.
ReplyDeleteThose Artisans Weekends are real nice. Have a good time! Who knows, maybe I'll be up there for it.
